Music Transcription Service

Welcome to my music transcription service page. My name is Michael Farkas, I am a musician and composer available to transcribe any music recording that you may want. For years I have been transcribing and notating music for my own studies and compositions, as well as for people all over through my music transcription service. I have a degree in music and mostly play jazz guitar and piano, but I have diverse musical tastes and enjoy transcribing music of any style.

As part of my music transcription services I can provide high quality notation of musical recordings using professional software. You send me the file of the recording over the internet, and then I send you a PDF file of the completed score that you can print and copy as much as you need. The specific music transcription services that I can perform are:

- Transcribing a recording into a direct copy written for the original instrument(s)

- Transcribing a recording into a piano arrangement

- Transcribing a recording into a guitar chord melody arrangement

- Jazz lead sheet transcriptions with chord symbols and melody

- Transcribing and arranging a piano piece into an ensemble arrangement

- Single line melody transcriptions of any instrument

- Improvised solo transcriptions

I should be able to handle any combination of transcribing a source recording and arrangeing it into whatever format, we can talk about anything you might need and work it out. The way my music transcription service will work is:

- You email me with the details of a recording or recordings that you want transcribed and how you want it transcribed

- I give you a quote of both time and cost

- You mail or email me the recordings and pay me a 10% deposit to PayPal

- When I have completed the transcription I send you an email

- You send me the payment by PayPal

- I send you the transcription files

Having either your own compositions or your favorite recordings written down as professional sheet music is a great thing for many reasons, but there can be even more reasons stopping someone from getting this done. Whether you do not have time to transcibe and arrange music, do not have the software, or do not know how, none of this should stop you from getting a good hard copy of the music that can be played by you and others, analyzed and studied, or just held for record keeping purposes. This is why I offer my music transciption services and I hope to hear from to get started on whatever music transcribing and arranging needs you have.
